Trying to post more...again. Now with the girlfriend officially residing in Charlottesville I should have more time to keep shit up to date. As anyone south of the Mason-Dixon has noticed its been a crazy miserable summer. 99 degrees with 99 percent humidity. You know its officially time for summer to be over when all you can think of is tele turning the shit out of some sweet WV glades. Racing has been winding down and going decently well. I usually end up with epic meltdowns once the mercury rises...but with a stiff regimen of 50 spf sunblock, electrolytes, 2 bottles of water per hour, and nearly constant pre-hydration Ive been keeping it together deep into the heat.
Scoped out new terrain today east of the Blue Ridge well riding new training routes to come see the significant other in the Foof. Slapping two mountains in the way lengthens the ride to a decent 4 hours with nice riding down into town. The foof side of the mountain is way more tree covered then the de-forested, agri-business oriented valley, making for some nice shade and relief from our oppressive star.
On deck for August: MABRA championship road race, Luray crit, then Millersburg stage race. Possible surgery on the 19th. More to come on that.
For now...quality training and quality deck time with Nick Waite and High Life.
